Fujian Cotton Textile Enterprises

Recently, the China Cotton Textile Industry Association research team went to Fujian area to investigate and understand the production and operation of the local cotton spinning enterprises, the problems encountered in the development process, and the policy recommendations for future industry development.

Fujian textile and garment industry originated in the 70s of last century. After more than 40 years of development, it occupies an important position in the domestic textile industry. In recent years, the quantity of cotton used by Fujian cotton spinning enterprises has been increasing. The yarn products are mainly cotton, cotton blended and chemical fiber blended. Among them, polyester, viscose and chemical fiber blended yarn occupy the first place in China, and the products are mainly exported to Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Fujian and other places. Affected by geographical location, Fujian cotton textile enterprises do not have the advantage of raw material procurement cost. Compared with those close to the consumer market, the sales strength is relatively weak. Therefore, enterprises can only work hard in the processing process and product quality. After the escalation of Sino US trade friction, domestic and foreign cotton prices continue to decline, the whole textile industry chain wait-and-see sentiment intensified, the market is rapidly weakening, domestic cotton spinning enterprises are experiencing pains, Fujian cotton textile enterprises have not been spared. Because most of the local workers are outsiders, it is very difficult to recruit workers after they stop production. Therefore, enterprises have to maintain their business by selling goods on a low price, and some enterprises are in a state of loss.

Investigation and understanding: at present, the problems in Fujian mainly lie in the following aspects: first, the shortage of labor force; the lack of labor in some enterprises; two, the difficulty in financing, especially the lack of funds in small and medium-sized enterprises, difficulties in technological transformation, slow progress in transformation and upgrading of enterprises, three, relatively simple product structure, serious homogenization of products, and four, lack of managerial and technical talents.

At present, there are some difficulties in the development of domestic cotton spinning enterprises. Enterprises urgently hope that the state can timely introduce relevant policies to support the development of the industry. At the same time, enterprises are also actively carrying out equipment replacement and transformation, constantly developing new products, and striving to improve product quality.
