Although the cost per square foot of leather has increased by nearly 0.5 yuan, the use of new technology can reduce the amount of chromium discharged to leather leather to zero.
It is understood that due to the general biochemical method is difficult to degrade, chromium will usually accumulate in the environment for a long time, and long-term uncontrolled emissions will cause water pollution.
In fact, in addition to the use of vegetable tanning agents, tanning enterprises in Haining have been trying to reduce the amount and emissions of chromium.
In the enterprises such as Fu Sheng Leather Co., Ltd. and Haining brothers leather Co., Ltd., during the tanning process, low consumption and high absorption chrome tanning and recycling technologies of waste chrome solution are being tried.
"These new technologies can reduce the amount of chromium in the traditional chrome tanning method by 30%, and the absorption rate will be increased to more than 95%, which will greatly reduce the chromium emission."
A technician of brother leather said that the cost of sludge disposal will be greatly reduced in the later stage, that is to say, the chromium content in the sludge accounts for only 5%, and the chrome tanning waste liquid basically realizes zero discharge.
