The latest statistical report released by the Technology Center pointed out that the total export of textiles and clothing in Tunisia in May was 401 million dnal (1 US dollars or 1.40 dnal), an increase of 1.2% over the same period last year. Although it has not yet recovered to the level before the international financial crisis, it has gone out of the shadow of the recession and continues to maintain a low growth rate.


Statistics show that textile exports in Tunisia increased by 9.7% over the same period in May.

Growth of 39%, wool and man-made fiber cloth increased by 82%, showing strong growth momentum.

In contrast, Tunisia's clothing exports increased by only 0.04% in May, indicating that the overall demand for traditional export markets is still weak.


However, Tunisia's clothing exports in May still showed some bright spots.

Among them, the export of T-shirts continued to grow since the beginning of the year, the volume of exports increased by 24% in May, the volume of exports increased by 13%, the number of bathrobes and swimsuit exports increased by 40%, the export volume increased by 47%, the number of tooling exports increased by 7.5%, the export volume increased by 17.2%, the number of jeans exports increased by 10.54%, and the export volume increased by 8.25%.

These growth depended mainly on exports to Italy.
